The case of a 19-year-old patient suffering from severe brain damage following several abscesses many years previously is reported. The patient developed fungal sepsis after receiving Perenterol (a probiotic drug containing S. boulardii) prophylaxis. His condition worsened following treatment with fluconazole over a period of 7 days.
