One out of twenty-one mung bean rhizobacteria (MRb) was selected for intensive studies on the basis of its in vitro antagonistic activity towards Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vignaradiatae (Xav.), the inducer of bacterial leaf spot (BLS) of mung bean. The MRb isolate was identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens (MRb1).
