An experiment was conducted during 2000-01 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China to evaluate the effects of different plant densities, i.e. 67 500 (row spacing of 54.5 cm), 97 500 (row spacing of 38.0 cm) and 127 500 plants/ha (row spacing of 29.0 cm), and N fertilizer levels, i.e. 0, 75, 150 and 225 kg/ha, on the yield and quality of winter oilseed rape (B. napus (B. napus var. oleifera)).
