Selection of new Stylosanthes guianensis varieties with high yield and disease resistance. Comparative trials on yield and anthracnose resistance

Pratacultural Science 21(5): 10-16

The yields and anthracnose resistances of 12 new varieties of Stylosanthes guianensis were tested in a randomized block design with 4 replicates. Minirao and GC1581 obtained annual dry forage yields of 11 650 and 11 420 kg/ha, respectively, which were 18.5 and 16.16% higher than that of control Reyan 2 (9831.1 kg/ha). Minirao and GC1581 were moderately resistant to anthracnose and had a high level of winter hardiness.
