The study was undertaken to assess the prevalence of Brucella antibodies in 1 024 goats slaughtered, using a micro agglutination test (MAT) during 2001-2002. The study revealed that 1.46% goats slaughtered for chevon had Brucella infection. The disease prevalence varied with age as 1.63%, 0.58% and 1.65% of kids, young adults and adults, respectively, had positive titres of Brucella agglutinins.
