Some observations on the incidence of rice brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stal.) and white-backed planthopper, Sogatella furcifera (Horvath) in Krishna-Godavari zone of Andhra Pradesh

Resources management in plant protection during twenty first century, Hyderabad, India, 14-15 November 2002 Volume II: 133-138

The patterns of brown planthopper (BPH, N. lugens) and white-backed plathopper (WBPH, S. furcifera) incidence in the Krishna-Godavari Zone of Andhra Pradesh, India were analysed using light trap data from 1975 to 2000. Carryover of BPH from one season to the next was observed due to continuous monoculture. However, the contribution of BPH from rabi to kharif was higher than that from kharif to the following rabi.
