Forty-eight field isolates of S. aureus obtained from cows with subclinical mastitis from dairy herds in Toluca Valley, Mexico were subjected to 0.5, 10.0, 3.0, 6.0, 10.0 and 60.0 micro g/ml concentrations of enrofloxacin to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). It was shown that growth was inhibited at 3 micro g/ml enrofloxacin in 8 isolates (14.8%), while growth in 20 strains was inhibited at 3-30.0 micro g/ml enrofloxacin (41.7%).
