Field experiments were carried out on a sandy loam soil in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, India, during 1999/2000 to 2001/02, to study the effects of N and P fertilizers on the productivity of niger Ootacmund. There were 12 treatments consisting of different combinations of N at 20 and 40 kg/ha as urea, P at 20 and 40 kg/ha as single superphosphate (SSP) or diammonium phosphate (DAP), and phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB).
