Studies on rhizome characters influencing on yield of different cultivars of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.)

An experiment was conducted during 2000-01 in Sirsi, Karnataka, India, to study the rhizome characters, i.e. number of mother rhizomes, primary and secondary fingers, length of primary and secondary fingers, and girth of mother rhizomes, primary and secondary fingers, affecting yield of 16 turmeric cultivars, i.e. Salem, Rajapuri, Cuddapah, Krishna, PCT-8, PCT-14, PTS-24, CLI-315, CLI-327, CLI-62, CO-1, Bidar-1, Bidar-4, BSR-1, Amalapuram and Tekurpeta.
