The Japanese bostrichid - a new occasional pest of vineyards?

An infestation of bostrichids was recorded in vineyards in northwest Main, Switzerland, during 2002. Two species were observed: Xyleborus dispar and Xylosandrus germanus. This is the 1st time that X. germanus has been found in European viticulture.
