The effect of clonal rootstocks and interstem (double-grafted trees) to the growth and yield of apple trees

The effect of clonal rootstocks and interstem (double-grafted trees) to the growth and yield of apple trees

Agraarteadus 14(5): 251-259

The effects of clonal rootstocks and interstems on the performance of apples were investigated in 1985-2001. Results showed that E53 and E56 are vigorous. E26, E37, E39, E63, 57-233 and 57-490 are also vigorous, but sometimes exhibited medium growth. Medium growth was obtained in rootstocks MM106, M7, E20, 54-118, 57-527 and 57-545. Dwarfing resulted with the use of rootstocks B9, 62-396, 57-476, 57-491 and E75, and E75 produced the highest dwarfing effect.
