The effects of reproductive status of cats on in vitro maturation of oocytes

The effect of the reproductive status and the efficacy of 2 culture media on in vitro maturation of cat oocytes was investigated. Collected oocytes were categorized under 5 groups as pregnant, anoestrus, pro-oestrus, oestrus and prepubertal. Oocytes in all groups were again randomly divided into 2 subgroups according to the maturation media: TCM 199 and Ham's F-10. After 48 h of maturation, the oocytes were evaluated for maturation criteria.
