The influence of 21 selected rootstock clones and 3 standard rootstocks, M.9, M.26 and Mark, on the yield and fruit quality of the apple 'Jonagold' was evaluated. The experiment was established in the spring of 1995 in the Experimental Orchard at Dabrowice near Skierniewice, Poland. One-year-old, well-branched maiden trees were planted in a randomized block design, with 4 replications and 3 trees per plot. The trees, planted at a distance of 4x2 m, were trained in the spindle bush system.
