In a two year experiment (2001-2002) in Slovenia, the effects of crop density (8.2, 10.8 or 16.6 plants/m2) on the extent of damage in 5 early cabbage cultivars (Vestri, Hermes, Delphi, Destiny and Parel) caused by onion thrips (T. tabaci) were studied. The average weight, average net weight (average weight minus the weight of the damaged leaves), and average index of damage in the outer leaves of heads significantly varied among the cultivars and crop densities.
