Notes are given on the treatment of effluents from small winemaking businesses in Spain. Systems with good environmental practices are comprised of 4 stages: analysis of the initial situation; identification of good practies; communication and implementation; and evaluation of results. Physicochemical procedures eliminate 10-30% and aerobic biological procedures 90% of effluents. Activated sediments and bacterial beds are frequently used.
