Water balance model for estimation of ground water recharge in a watershed

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola has developed approximately 267 ha of CRS Shivar watershed in Akola district, Maharashtra, India. Groundwater recharge resulting from rainfall has been estimated using a water balance model of the soil moisture zone considering soil zone thickness and crop grown. The major inputs to this model are daily rainfall and pan evaporation.
