Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor Verdon) and Sudan grass (S. sudanense) were sown in the experimental field of the Institute of Forage Crops, Pleven. The changes in the morphological structure and contents of crude protein, crude fibre and cyanoglucosides were recorded. As the vegetation of sorghum and Sudan grass advanced, the leaf proportion decreased, the stem and sheath proportions remained on a relatively equal level and the head with grain proportion increased.
