The development methods, production technologies, immunological results and ecological responses were reviewed briefly in relation to the K88-K99, K88ac-LTB, K99-F41 and ST-LT engineered vaccines against enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli. Studies showed that when pregnant animals were immunized with one of these engineered vaccines, the morbidity and mortality rates due to diarrhoea of their offsprings which sucked colostric fluids decreased significantly.
