Biotypes of Cyperus difformis resistant to ALS inhibitory herbicides

Biotypes of Cyperus difformis resistant to ALS inhibitory herbicides

Memoria XVI Congreso Latinoamericano de Malezas y XXIV Congreso Nacional de la Asociacion Mexicana de la Ciencia de la Maleza, Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico, del 10 al 12 de Noviembre de 2003: 265-271

Studies on biotypes of Cyperus difformis from rice crops in Spain confirmed the existance of weed populations with resistance to bensulfuron-methyl. Cross-resistance to ethoxysulfuron was also observed. Imazamox gave acceptable control of these populations and there was no resistance to the imidazolinone group. Enzymatic assays on acetoacetatic acid synthase confirmed the existance of insensitive enzymes in resistant populations.
