Comparing the effects of chemical haulm desiccation and natural haulm senescence in potato by the use of two different skin set methods

Norway has a fairly short growing season, and it is important to optimize growing techniques to avoid immature tubers and undesirable skinning. The traditional killing of haulm with diquat shortens the growing season by around two weeks, and it has been questioned whether this really gives the best effect on skin set. In this study, the skin set after natural senescence and chemical haulm desiccation is studied. Two different skin set methods are compared.
