Compatibility of forest certification and forest harvesting practice code approach to sustainable forest management



Journal of the Japanese Forest Society 87(4): 358-363



Forest certification has been widely accepted as an integral tool for addressing sustainable forest management issues around the world. The primary purpose of this study is to discuss key issues of two types of dominant certification schemes-Forest Stewardship Council and Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme through a comparison of current statistics and status of program implementation.
