Osteoarthritis is a non-inflammatory, degenerative and progressive joint disease. It is marked by degeneration of the articular cartilage, hypertrophy of bone at the margins and changes in the synovial membrane. In the third part of the article, methods of diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs are presented. Clinically, it is manifested by chronic lameness and reluctance to rise.
