Detection of feline infectious peritonitis virus-like antigen in ferrets

Detection of feline infectious peritonitis virus-like antigen in ferrets

Veterinary Record 158(15): 523-523

This correspondence reports on the observation of microscopic granulomatous lesions consistent with feline coronavirus infection in ferrets. Nine ferret cases submitted to the Pathology Diagnostic Service (Spain) during the period 2004-2005 were selected for investigation. Histopathological examination revealed granulomatous inflammatory reaction in nearly all the tissues evaluated.
