Determinants of technical efficiency of wheat farming in Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey: a nonparametric technical efficiency analysis

This study analyses the technical efficiency of wheat growing farms in Southeastern Anatolia in Turkey. Data were collected from 193 farms through a questionnaire study carried out during the 2000-2001 growing season. Analysis was accomplished in two steps. In the first step, technical efficiency scores were calculated using an input-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). In the second step, Tobit regression analysis was used to identify determinants of technical efficiency.
