Effect of planting season on growth and yield of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) varieties

Field experiments were conducted in Coconut Development Board, Pitapalli, Kurdha, Bhubaneswar during 2001-02 and 2002-03, kharif and rabi seasons in acid laterite soil to study the effect of planting season on growth and yield of sweet potato varieties. The results revealed that during kharif, Sree Nandini recorded the highest total and marketable yield compared to other varieties; however it was comparable with that of Sree Bhadra and Samrat.
