Effects of saline-alkali stress on ultrastructure in chloroplast and some physiological indexes of oats

Under controlled conditions, the effects of saline-alkali stress on the ultrastructure of chloroplast and on some physiological indexes of two oat cultivars (Baiyan 1 and Baiyan 7) were studied. With the increase of salt concentration, the chloroplast of oats expanded, slices of basal granule were distorted or even disintegrated, matrix was tenuous, starch particles disappeared, plastoglobulin became empty, and the membrane of the chloroplast had disintegrated.
