A filamentous virus was found that causes rugose and mosaic symptoms in S. grosvenorii (Thladiantha grosvenorii) in Yongfu county of Guangxi Province, China. Based on its biological, morphological and cytopathological characteristics, isolate LGL-1 was primarily identified as a member of the family Potyviridae. Using the degenerated primer of Potyviridae, the 3'-terminal sequence of isolate LGL-1 was determined.
