The current situation of machine fleets and use of old agricultural machinery in Rostov Oblast', Russia is discussed. The negative effects of usage of old machinery are briefly outlined. New technologies of combined soil cultivation machines and tools have been developed, those have been pictured and described. The comparison of traditional and energy saving agricultural machinery used in South of Russia is tabulated.
