Potential impacts of genetically modified trees on biodiversity of forestry plantations: a global perspective

Potential impacts of genetically modified trees on biodiversity of forestry plantations: a global perspective

The bioengineered forest: challenges for science and society: 190-207

This chapter assesses the possible effects of managing forest plantations of genetically modified trees on forest ecology and biodiversity. The following characteristics are briefly discussed: herbicide tolerance, tolerance to adverse soils, pest resistance, disease resistance, quality traits, sterility and other biosafety traits, and growth traits.
