Preliminary study on short-term dynamics of agricultural soil microbial community by PCR-RFLP and PCR-TGGE techniques

The short term dynamics of agricultural soil microbial community was determined using PCR-RFLP and PCR-TGGE techniques. Results show that the PCR-RFLP patterns of bacterial rDNA and fungal 18s rDNA were similar among 5 soil samples, which were continually sampled from the field for one month. The similarity of bacterial community PCR-TGGE patterns were up to 90%, with an average of 40 bands per sample, and that of fungal community were up to 70% with an average of 20 bands per sample.
