Preliminary study on some adult plant resistance genes as sources of resistance to stripe rust disease in wheat (Puccinia striiformis Westend f. sp. tritici)

The resistance of 9 wheat cultivars, along with the susceptible control cultivar Bolani, to stripe rust (P. striiformis f.sp. tritici) pathotype 134E134A+ was evaluated in a field experiment conducted in Iran during 2002-03. All the cultivars were susceptible to the pathotype during the seedling stage. Under field conditions, the cultivars were either resistant or moderately susceptible to the pathogen, except for Japateco S and Bolani.
