Screening tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) genotypes for buckeye fruit rot (Phytophthora nicotianae) and quality traits of resistant donors

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 75(10): 663-666
Screening tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) genotypes for buckeye fruit rot (Phytophthora nicotianae) and quality traits of resistant donors
A study was conducted in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India, during 2000-2001 to evaluate tomato (L. esculentum) genotypes for buckeye fruit rot (P. nicotianae var. parasitica) resistance and quality traits of resistant donors under natural epiphytotic condition. Of the 73 genotypes evaluated, none was completely free from the disease. Seven genotypes (LO 701, EC 113809, EC 392693, EC 129602, EC 129603, LO 1003 and EC 191538) were moderately resistant, whereas 47 were moderately susceptible.
