Studies on crop yield as influenced by the use of crop residues in conjunction with nitrogenous fertilizer in rice-wheat cropping system

Field experiments were conducted at the Central Research Farm, Goyeshpur, Nadia, West Bengal, India, to study the yield of rice (cv. IR36)-wheat (cv. UP262) cropping sequence as influenced by crop residues and farmyard manure (FYM) in conjunction with nitrogen fertilizer. The experimental soil was clayey loam alluvial (Entisol). Twelve treatment combinations of crop residue, FYM and recommended dose of N, P2O5 and K2O were used.
