Studies on microsporogenesis and the formation of male gametophyte in Iris bloudowii

The microsporogenesis and formation of male gametophytes in I. bloudowii were studied. Results showed that anther wall development was of the dicotyledonous type. The tapetum was glandular. The cytokinesis of microsporocyte meiotic division were successive and simultaneous types, and microspore tetrads were of the tetrahedral and isobilateral types, respectively.
