Studies on preservation of banana stored under modified atmospheric conditions using diffusion channel

Banana varieties 'Poovan' and 'Dwarf Cavendish' were stored in air-tight containers with different sizes of diffusion channel (channel length 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm, and diameter 3 and 6 mm) to enhance the shelf-life under modified atmospheric conditions at 14+or-1 degrees C. The samples were dipped in 0.1% Bavistin and shade dried to remove the surface moisture before keeping them in air tight containers.
