Studies were conducted in Haryana, India, to evaluate the effects of intercropping onion N-53 with tomato Sel-7 on the development of root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne javanica) populations for up to 3 months. Treatments comprised: growing onion alone; growing tomato alone; tomato + onion (alternate rows); tomato + onion (alternately within a row); one row of tomato + two rows of onion; and tomato + 1 kg carbofuran/ha.
