Technical efficiency and productivity of apple farming in Antalya Province of Turkey

This study analyses the socioeconomic characteristics of apple farms in Antalya province, Turkey, and reveals the economic structure of apple farming. The technical efficiency of apple farming was also analysed. Data were collected through personal interview from 60 agricultural enterprises during the 2001 production year. The average size of the apple orchards in the study area is 12.46 da. The share of the total land devoted to apple farming in the total farm land is 28.47%.
