The influence of temperature on the development of Rhizopertha dominica Fabricius. (Coleoptera; Bostrichidae)

The development of Rhizopertha dominica was investigated under laboratory conditions at different temperatures from - 1 to 42 degrees C with intervals of 5 degrees C. Based on our results it may be concluded that the best temperature for development of R. dominica is 34 degrees C. The development duration of one generation of R. dominica on average is 28.06 days at 34 degrees C, 39.55 days at 39 degrees C and 125.15 days at 21 degrees C.
