This paper focuses on the species diversity and economic importance (e.g. as food, medicine and horticultural plants) of living Gymnosperms (including indigenous and introduced taxa) in India. It reports the occurrence of 101 species, 4 varieties and 1 forma belonging to 33 genera in the present political boundaries of the country.
