Greenhouse experiments were conducted to study the relationship between the metabolites in rice seeds and the emergence and establishment of seedlings to improve the emergence and establishment of direct-sown seedlings in flooded paddy fields. The plant length, leaf age and dry weight of the vegetative parts at 14 days after sowing were highly and positively correlated with the emergence rate.
