An experiment was conducted during 1995-96 and 1996-97 in Uttaranchal, India, to study the effect of row spacing, sowing rate and fertilizer rate on the quality and yield of sugarcane CoS 767. Treatments comprised: 60- and 90-cm row spacing; 44 400 or 66 700 setts per ha; and 0 kg/ha, 120 kg urea/ha, 150 kg urea/ha, 150 kg N/ha (through 120 kg farmyard manure (FYM)/ha + 30 kg urea/ha), and 180 kg N/ha (through 120 kg FYM/ha + 60 kg urea/ha).
