2 new species of dactylogyrus monogenea dactylogyridae from notropis scabriceps and notropis scepticus pisces cyprinidae

2 new species of dactylogyrus monogenea dactylogyridae from notropis scabriceps and notropis scepticus pisces cyprinidae

Journal of Parasitology 66(1): 160-161

D. newensis sp. nov. is described from the New River shiner, N. scabriceps (Cope), and D. sceptici sp. nov. from the sandbar shiner, N. scepticus (Jordan and Gilbert). D. newensis differs from its closest apparent relative D. percobromus Monaco and Mizelle, by having a sharp bend near the distal end of the cirrus.
