Abstract
A molluscan fossil from the deposits of the marine terrace at Kurihama, Miura Peninsula, gives the age of 3680 .+-. 130 yr B.P., by the radiocarbon dating method. This age suggests that this marine terrace is not the same as the Numa Terrace. Emergence of this took place about 3700 yr B.P., due to seismic upheavals.
