A case report of external auditory canal cholesteatoma



Practica Otologica Kyoto 80(12): 1863-1868



There are two types of external meatal cholesteatoma; keratosis obturans and external auditory canal cholesteatoma (EACC). They differ Pathologically and have different aspects. EACC was found in a 26-year-old female. Surgical removal of the cholesteatoma followed by meatal plasty using a pedicle temporal muscle cured the lesion. The pathogenesis and treatment of this entity are discussed.
