A comparative analysis of segetal vegetation syntaxa in the ukrainian carpathians ussr

A comparative analysis of segetal vegetation syntaxa in the ukrainian carpathians ussr

Ukrayins'kyi Botanichnyi Zhurnal 45(1): 13-16

Acidity, moisture and soil richness spectra are constructed to characterize more comprehensively segetal vegetation syntaxons singled out on the basis of the floristic Braun-Blanquet classification. Vital forms of weeds and way of their dissemination are subjected to the biological analysis. Besides, associations are analyzed for the composition of families, types of areas of distribution and origin of segetal species. Most of indices confirm the similarity of spectra. The observed differences are considered as only weak tendencies of weed-field associations to variability. Indicator species of acidic and moistened soils prevail in associations detected on the upper boundary of farming. The quantity of hemicryptophytes and geophytes, as well as species of Lamiaceae, Poaceae, Rosaceae in these associations gets higher. Here the specific weight of apophytes of the forest and forest-meadow origin predominate. The geographical analysis has shown that cosmopolitan species with a wide area of distribution underlie the flora of the studied associations.
