A comparison of the endogenous cyto kinins in the leaves of 4 gymnosperms

A comparison of the endogenous cyto kinins in the leaves of 4 gymnosperms

Botanical Gazette 139(1): 32-35

Compounds that are active in the soybean bioassay and which cochromatograph with Z [zeatin] and its derivatives were detected in the mature leaves of Ginkgo biloba, Podocarpus henkelii, Welwitschia mirabilis and Encephalartos natalensis. While 2iP [isopentenyladenine] was not found in the leaves of the first 5 spp., it appears to be present in the latter 2 plants .
