A further note on sampling research trawl catches at sea

Journal of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada 33(5): 1196

An additional 108 empirical tests (19 spp.) [flatfish, rockfish, roundfish, selachii] have corroborated the validity of a method, described in 1967, for estimating total weight of individual species in trawl catches. Mean error was-0.6% and in 97% of the tests error was no more than .+-. 4%.
