A genetic study on interspecific wheat crosses triticum durum x triticum aestivum

Ain Shams University Faculty of Agriculture Research Bulletin (2053): 1-18

Two interspecific wheat crosses were made between 2 tetraploid cultivars (Jori 69 and Dakar 52, T. durum) and 2 hexaploid cultivars (Giza 155 and Giza 139, T. aestivum) to study the genetic behavior of some economic characters. The results showed dominance for plant height (Giza 155), number of spikelets/head (Giza 155) and grain protein percentage (Jori 69). The number of gene pairs responsible for the parental differences was estimated.
