A model for boll weevil anthonomus grandis grandis ovipositional site selection

A model for boll weevil anthonomus grandis grandis ovipositional site selection

Environmental Entomology 8(5): 917-921

A model for selection of boll weevil oviposition sites by size category is presented. Preference model predictions are similar to 10 weekly experimental distributions obtained throughout the 1978 growing season [of Gossypium hirsutum L.]. Chi-squared goodness of fit tests support model predictions, whereas nonpreference hypothesis for ovipositional site selection is statistically rejected.
