A new species of nematode from the mountain tundra of kamchatka ussr

Rotylenchus alpinus sp. nov. is described. The species was found in the rhizosphere of Vaccinium uliginosum and Arctous alpina from the mountain tundra of Kamchatka [Russian SFSR, USSR]. It differs from the close species R. orientalis in having a higher place of entering of the esophagal dorsal gland duct, well developed hind ovary and in having males, and from R. goodeyi by a lower position of the dorsal gland duct, smaller body size and gubernaculum size.
